One person, the public data, and the numbers behind the news.

Black Swan Stats is built and run by Moe Abughannam, who writes here as Moe Abu, from Virginia. It started as a tool for checking what reporters said against what the snap counts and box scores showed, and it still works that way: every page reports what the sources say and puts a number beside it.

The site never recommends a player and never tells you what to do with a number. The house stats on How we count exist to answer one question about a week's news: does it hold?
